Bart Reminds me of older atmospheric black metal that doesn't rely on the keyboards to fill out the sound. Think Dissection. I'm particularly a fan of the wailing vocals which kinda remind me of Bethlehem. Takes a few listens to really absorb, but it's worth it. Favorite track: Fames.

H.L. "Egrégore" presents black metal art which creates a dense atmosphere without synthesizers. Only the most talented bands are able to do so, take Primordial as an example. BÀ'A is different, more avantgarde maybe, linking traditional harsh black metal with modern post influences. The French vocals are less singing than roughly spoken words, so the whole package is quite unique. There are several great tracks to check the album, for example "In Umbra er Luce", "Domitir" or "Urbi et Orbi Clamant". Favorite track: In Umbra et Luce.

Bâ'a offers here his 2nd album "Egrégore" with a sound always faithful to a black metal eager to be both traditional and nonetheless fitting perfectly into the current musical landscape.
The lyrics and concept of the album are once again the backbone of the opus. Based on the principle of polarity resulting from the hermetic philosophy and on an interpretation of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, the band offers here a reflection on Good and Evil as well as the reason for our presence down here below.

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit
