I've been listening to Mutiilation / Meyhnach for over 20 years now. When he posted his message addressing us long term fans I was immediatedly drawn in and pre ordered the new album immediatedly. I just finished listening to it and it is a MASTERPIECE. Mutiilation is back!! The name of the album is perfect for the spirit of it and for us devotees. There's a good variety of moods on the songs in it, classic and new type of riffs abound. Get it!!!
Favorite track: From the Plains of Ice and Death.

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended.
