When he posted his message addressing us long term fans I was immediatedly drawn in and pre ordered the new album immediatedly. I just finished listening to it and it is a MASTERPIECE. Mutiilation is back!! The name of the album is perfect for the spirit of it and for us devotees. There's a good variety of moods on the songs in it, classic and new type of riffs abound. Get it!!! Favorite track: From the Plains of Ice and Death.

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit

The first time I heard this band was off their Heir of Ecliptical Romanticism, and I remember the riffs being the highlight of the album. This album is no different. The band just has a fuller sound with better production these days. Many of their tunes here remind me of early Satyricon. The classic heavy metal influences really make those riffs stick in your brain. Bart
